New tobacco licensing platform streamlines compliance across Scotland

Developed in partnership with the Scottish Government, ePass has launched a digital platform aimed at transforming the way tobacco and nicotine licences are managed.

One platform, two audiences

The user-friendly platform enables businesses to register quickly, manage their details online and ensure they remain compliant with evolving regulations. Behind the scenes, it gives local authorities the tools they need to streamline oversight and enforcement.

Built for scale, built in partnership

Built for scale, the platform supports thousands of businesses while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and privacy. The dynamic partnership between Zudu, the Scottish Government, Trading Standards, Local Authorities and retailers has enabled the swift rollout of a live solution designed with both end users and administrators in mind.

What comes next

Future developments of the product are planned to build a two-way communication centre between retailers and the government and an e-learning platform to educate retailers on legislation changes and how they can comply.

This launch marks another step in the mission to modernise compliance infrastructure across the public sector – making it faster, smarter and more transparent.
